This is Executive Dysfunction Weekly – a half-news, half-scream blog for those of us trying to make sense of modern politics with a broken calendar, a stack of Post-Its, and a deep, aching sigh. If you’ve ever felt like the world’s gone mad and all you have is sarcasm and stress-eating, you’re in the right place.
Here, you’ll get:
• Weekly recaps of the madness – think of it as your political Netflix binge, but with more WTF moments.
• Quick-hit reels that feel like a panic attack in a PowerPoint – we distill the chaos into bite-sized video rants, so you can stay informed and mildly nauseous.
• The occasional policy breakdown, probably written at 3AM – because why wouldn’t you start a deep dive on the debt ceiling in the dead of night?
• And memes. So many memes. (We cope by meme-ing – it’s cheaper than therapy.)
Sound fun?
It is, in a gallows-humor kind of way.
We’ve been at this for years – yelling into the void about political dysfunction, chaos and oh-so-much hypocrisy.
Along the way, we’ve honed a voice that’s funny, biting, and thoroughly disillusioned. We’ve watched the mainstream media tiptoe around the obvious, afraid to call a lie a lie. They still sometimes lapse into “both-sides-ism,” normalizing Trump’s abnormal behavior. Meanwhile, we’re over here pounding the table and calling a coup attempt a freaking coup. If a president’s lawyer is caught on tape plotting to overturn an election, we won’t politely call it “troubling”; we’ll call it what it is – a blueprint for autocracy with a laugh track. (Because if we don’t laugh, we might cry, and we’re far too dehydrated for tears.)
Authoritarian tendencies?
Oh, we see them.
At a July 2024 Christian gathering, the man said “you won’t have to vote anymore” while urging the audience to vote for him that November.
To our ears, that sounded like retiring the ballot box, not freedom.
We greeted that doozy with the collective side-eye it deserved. In one of our op-eds, we quipped that listening to Trump speak when you care about democracy is like being a nail and hearing a hammer swing – every word feels like a hit. When we heard those words as a warning about the future of elections, we imagined he must be planning something completely normal (maybe a volcanic eruption to make voting obsolete, or an army of bears loose in the polling places – who knows?).
In short, we’re fluent in the absurdity and we will call it out with maximal snark.
So welcome, fellow burnout survivors, to our little corner of catharsis.
Follow us. Share us. Rage with us.
Because this system isn’t just broken – it’s actively mocking us.
Let’s laugh (and scream) back at it together.
